MOUNT HAGEN




Mount Hagen, centrally located in the Highlands is the main commercial center of the Highlands Region. Recently declared the third city in Papua New Guinea, Mount Hagen offers most modern amenities and standard type hotels supplemented by a series of village based lodges and guest houses.

Mount Hagen, one of the busiest airports in PNG is easily accessible by daily Air Niugini flights from Port Moresby and four flights a week direct from Cairns, Australia. The national Highlands Highway runs through Mount Hagen from the coastal township Lae and a connection from Madang.

Flights to the Wilderness Lodges of AMBUA, KARAWARI and MALOLO PLANTATION LODGES start from Mount Hagen.

HAUS POROMAN LODGE
Haus Poroman Lodge is located in a village, 9 kilometres from Mount Hagen at an altitude of 6,200 feet (1,900 metres). The village land overlooks the Waghi Valley and the township of Mount Hagen. The Lodge, built in traditional style and offers modern conveniences.

There are three standards of accommodation - rooms with en-suite bathrooms, rooms with shared bathroom and a backpackers dormitory.

HIGHLANDER HOTEL
The Highlander Hotel is close to the center to Mount Hagen offers 68 rooms with color T.V., IDD phone and conference suite. Other facilities include swimming pool, pool side BBQ/Grill, restaurant and cocktail bar.
